What's inside

The basics that actually work today, plus a few things we're still building.

PL

Plagiarism check

Splits your text into sentences and compares each one against public Wikipedia pages. You get a percentage and the actual source links — not just a score.

AI

AI-text indicator (soon)

A simple flag for passages that look like they were written by ChatGPT or similar. In testing — coming on the Premium plan.

CI

Citation hints

When we find a match, we generate a quick APA / MLA reference for the source so you can add it instead of paraphrasing.

What early users said

From the pilot run with classmates and a couple of lecturers at ICT University.

"I ran my project report through it and it caught two paragraphs I'd paraphrased from Wikipedia without realising. Saved me from a re-do."

MA
Marie A.L3 Computer Science, UYI

"The fact that it shows the exact source link is what sold me. I can talk to students about the match instead of just arguing about a number."

EM
Mr. Etienne M.Lecturer, ICT University

"Honestly was sceptical at first because it's free, but the matches are decent. Wish it also checked academic papers, not just Wikipedia."

CE
Cédric E.Master's student, Yaoundé

Common questions

A few things people usually ask before signing up.

Is it really free?

Yes. 1,000 words per scan, 5 scans per month, no card needed. We made it free because that's what we needed as students.

How does the matching work?

We split your text into sentences, take 5-word chunks (n-grams), and look them up against Wikipedia pages we pull from the public API. If enough chunks match, the sentence gets flagged with a link to the source.

Does it only check Wikipedia?

Right now, yes — that was the most realistic source we could integrate without paying for an API. We're working on adding broader web sources.

Is my text private?

The scan runs entirely in your browser. We don't keep the text unless you choose to save the scan to your account.

Does it detect AI-generated text?

Not yet — there's a beta indicator we're building for the Premium plan, but treat any AI-detection score as a guess for now.

Can I upload PDF or DOCX files?

Yes. The checker reads .txt, .pdf and .docx in the browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
